Photography and travel has been a big part of my life for almost as long as I can remember. There was never any doubt in my mind about what I wanted to do. Over the years the camera become more of a continuation of my hand, than a tool. I had the privilege and pleasure to photograph hundreds of couples and family's, and I can't wait to work with you too.
The Story of a Photographer
HI! My name is Birta Sveinbjörnsdóttir, a professional photographer and a travel guide from Hafnarfjörður, Iceland. I studied photography at the Norwegian school of photography in Trondheim, Norway. I graduated in June 2018 with a degree in Photography. I am currently based in Iceland with an extreme enthusiasm in weddings, elopement, couples, and everything in the middle.
I want to tell your story through my pictures. I love to shoot those inbetween moments where its only you two together forgetting the world in one of the most beautiful landscape. I want you to be able to look back at the photos and make you feel and remember that day like it was yesterday.
Why I Became A Tour Guide
I had this idea of how truly wonderful it would be if I could combine travel and photography together. I had already gone to so many beautiful places with my couples. I thought to myself "what if I can do both? I love this country and I want to show everyone I meet the beauty of this land." That's why I applied to the guiding school in Iceland, earning myself the title, Tour Guide the year 2020.
I grew up in Iceland, I have travelled around Europe and United States but Iceland is on a different level. There is something in the air that I can't explain. People that decide to get married here in the pure Icelandic air surrounded by unique and unchanged nature get to experience something almost other worldly. It creates moments that I do not think can be recreated anywhere else in the world. Maybe it´s the elves!
Extra driver license / bus driver
The year 2021 I decided to add an extra driver license to my education. This way I could start doing my own tours and blend all the things I love together in one. Do you want to see the lights? Do you want to have a photoshoot? Do you want to see Iceland? I can drive you around, photograph your trip and educate you about Iceland!
